Here is the construction detail of the insulated kennels, ideal for Bulgaria where temperatures can be extreme.

The first course roughly laid out to determine the size. This was then laid using a traditional mortar mix on a level concrete base. Leaving a day to set, then the the insulated floor was laid.

The rest of the blocks were laid using the special Ytong mortar mix, giving a slope from front to back. A timber wall plate was laid on the upper edge which will support the roof, battens installed to take the insulation.

The plywood and frame work ready for the insulation, hinged at the rear.

Roof shingles laid, now for the corner moulding around the edges.

Ytong lightweight blocks were used, these are easily cut and can be even screwed and nailed.

A coat of rendering to all outside edges, a mix of cement, sharp sand and lime was used. All timber can be simply screwed into the blocks.

Insulation in place and the plywood cut ready to nail on.
